At 42 gallons per barrel, that's nearly 210 million gallons of oil spilled into the gulf, not to mention the massive amounts of toxic dispersants that the government ordered BP to stop dumping, but which they continued to use anyway.Nearly five million barrels of oil have gushed from BP’s well, federal scientists said, announcing the most precise estimates yet of the flow. The number would make this the biggest known oil spill.
